Short-term Guests

Groups and individuals visiting campus for official University business may rent single, double, or triple occupancy rooms. As of September 1st, 2011 persons traveling alone will only be able to rent single rooms. Double shared rooms are only available to persons traveling as a group of two and triple shared rooms are only available to persons traveling as a group of three. UW departments and off campus groups here on official university business may reserve blocks of singles, doubles and triple shared rooms for visits and conference purposes. The dorms have daily and weekly rates. Guests staying more than four weeks may obtain special rates by signing a contract and paying a $100 refundable damage deposit.

Humphrey and Jorns Halls function as a dormitory, thus families with children under the age of 16 cannot be housed here. For the same reason, couples are not permitted to stay unless both individuals are on University related business. Starting Fall 2011 Humphrey and Jorns Halls will no longer provide housing for persons and groups visiting for University sports games.

FEES

Rates for stays 4 weeks or less:
Singles $42/night and $252/week
Doubles $30/night/person and $180/week
Triples $23/night/person and $138/week

Rates are different for individuals staying longer than 4 weeks or longer on a short-term contract. Call the number below for more information.

All rental periods of less than four weeks require an entire payment upon check-in. Charge/debit cards are NOT accepted. Personal checks are accepted from Wisconsin residents only or by approval by Housing Coordinator. Non-residents must pay with Travelers Checks or cash.

Parking is available for $12/day and $7/half-day. Permits must be requested when making reservations and are obtained and paid for in Room B111 Jorns Hall when checking in. All parking permits ordered in advance are non-refundable and must be paid for whether the resident chooses to use it or not. Lot 32 is free from 4:30 p.m. – 7 a.m. M-F and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Check-in is between 12 noon and 10 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m. after the last evening of your stay. When making your reservation, be sure to indicate your anticipated arrival time. If delayed, please call to change or cancel your reservation. After hours, there is a recorded voice message in the voice mail system at (608) 262-2270 with the name of the housefellow on duty that you can reach for assistance.
