Job Opportunities

Graduates Pursue a Variety of Agriculture-related Careers

Graduates of Farm and Industry Short Course complete the program with highly marketable skill sets. Many graduates pursue careers in production agriculture, but more and more students are choosing agriculture related careers. Job opportunities range from Dairy Herdsperson to Fertilizer and Pesticide Applicator to Research Technician and everywhere in between.

To assist in the job search process, The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) Career Services is available to Short Course students for help with resumes, cover letters, career exploration and more. In addition, CALS Career Services provides access to BuckyNet – CALS online job search database.

All incoming students are given a BuckyNet account and receive at least one tutorial during the year. Alumni of FISC can also have access to BuckyNet, but need to request an account. Accounts never expire – students, recent graduates and alumni are encouraged to maintain their profile and keep their resume current. Use BuckyNet to apply for internships and jobs, post resumes, sign up for on-campus employer interviews and much more.
