The Dairy Judging Team and Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge teams are open to second-year students. The judging team competes at the World Dairy Expo and other national contests. The Dairy Challenge team sends individual contestants to the Challenge’s Midwest competition. Participation in the Badger Dairy Showmanship Cup and Badger Livestock show are always a highlight for Short Course students.
Short Course Ambassadors
Students who return for a second year may be eligible to become a Farm & Industry Short Course Ambassador. These students represent the program at a variety of agricultural events including the annual National FFA convention in Indianapolis.
Short Course Yearbook
Interested students can gain experience by helping to prepare The Little Badger, an annual Short Course yearbook.
Sports and Activities
Our students have access to UW Badger athletic events at reduced student prices. Supervised basketball, volleyball, bowling and swimming (instructional and recreational) are available. Short Course students may use any campus recreational sports facility, and several ski trips are planned each year.
Lectures, plays, concerts and films abound on-campus and in Madison. Church youth groups always welcome Short Course students.
